We are excited to continue to grow here at inVia Robotics. We want to give you a little behind the scenes look and help you get to know the inVia family a little better. With today being International Women’s Day, we’re featuring Jasmine Nash, our inventory clerk. She comes to inVia with a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering.

What is your role at inVia?

My role at inVia is that of Inventory Clerk. I help with shipping and receiving products as well as inspecting and maintaining a current count of the products we use to build the robots.

How did you first learn about inVia?

I actually came across inVia while I was searching for a job in the Valley. I found the Inventory Clerk ad on a career search page and researched more about the company. Once I saw all the cool robotics advancements they were doing I knew I had to apply.

What does a normal day at inVia look like for you?

A typical day at inVia involves me going through each workstation in the warehouse and making a list of items that we are running low on so that an order can be placed for those items. I also receive product items that come in and log that into our inventory system. I am also responsible for sticking to an organizational system so that the team always knows where important items are being stored.

What is your favorite part about working for inVia?

I enjoy working for a company that has a strong understanding of what need they are meeting in the market. inVia is gaining a lot of popularity and traction right now and it’s really exciting to be a part of that.

What are some of your career goals?

I want to continue to grow and learn new things. What really excites me about inVia is how open the leaders are to personal growth and expansion.

What did you do before you started working at inVia?

My previous employment was at a bookstore catering to college students. I enjoyed working in the warehouse where the books were kept, as well as the ever changing tasks that my job required of me.

Did you ever picture yourself to be working with robots like you do?

I always thought robots were cool but I never imagined I would have a small part in making robots.

What inspires you to work with robots?

I am inspired by how many possibilities there are with robotics. It seems like whatever you set your mind to you can make happen with a robot.

What would you say to other women trying to get into the robotic field?

If other women are interested in robotics they can certainly study the subject in school. If they would prefer a more hands on occupation the mechanical assembly

of the robots is pretty interesting. I know it can seem a little intimidating getting into this field but so far everyone I have worked with has been extremely helpful. It

seems like everyone at inVia is more than willing to share their knowledge with newcomers.

What do you do when you aren’t working?

I enjoy reading and playing board games with my husband. I also cook and explore more of LA when I am not at inVia.

What are some of your favorite board games to play?

Some of my favorite games include Andriod:Netrunner LCG, Legendary, and Splendor.

If you could have a robot replace one of your daily tasks whether it be at work or home what would it be?

I would have a robot build furniture for me or put tedious items away for me such as dishes or laundry.

What is the geekiest thing you’ve ever done?

I don’t know if this is still considered geeky but I went to band camp for several years in high school. I also continued to play in the pep band while I was getting my bachelor’s degree.
